Testimonial from Cody Larmer

When Lucy Star arrived at Pear Tree Farm it was probably to Anna's dismay...she was very light, lacked confidence and trust, and overall was in bad condition.  I was willing to spend the money on Lucy Star to get her right and make her feel like a horse again.  With the time, patience and the horsemanship of both Anna and Michael, they were able to achieve amazing results.  Over 6 months Lucy Star changed, not only in condition but also in attitude and confidence.  Her coat changed to a rich bay, she was in healthy condition, and had muscled up considerably.  Today she is a similar environment to that of Pear Tree Farm based at Tapanui in the racing stable of Barrie and Nikki Blatch.  After 13 months off the track and in her fourth start she won at Gore over 1200m in March 2009.
Lucy Star has come a long way, and the 6 months at Pear Tree Farm has been the difference.  Thanks to Anna and Michael, they do a great job. The communication is fantastic and I highly recommend them to anyone.

Testimonial from Mary Anne Manigian

In March 2009 I moved from Tasmania, Australia to Waimate with my two horses.  It is a daunting task making an advance international booking for agistment to an unknown place with unknown people but an initial phone call to Pear Tree Farm dispelled any doubts.  Anna’s friendly helpfulness combined with knowledgeable professionalism made it quite clear that the horses would be in good hands.
‘Sol’ and ‘Grace’ didn’t arrive by transporter  from the Timaru docks until after 1am on a cold, rainy night and I was very grateful to Anna for being up to see them safely off the truck and settled for the night, especially since they had not travelled well from Melbourne and were both extremely tired and underweight.  Much to my relief they were soon back to their old selves and in shiny good health again on Pear Tree Farm’s excellent grazing.
A lot of time, energy and forethought have gone into establishing Pear Tree Farm as can be seen by the well planned layout of the paddocks and laneways, substantial windbreaks, excellent fencing and water system which all contribute to a safe, pleasant and comfortable environment for horses to relax.
Anna and Michael have been unfailingly kind, accommodating and considerate to the needs and wants of both me and my horses which I deeply appreciate.  I have total confidence in their ability to provide excellent horse care in any situation based on their extensive experience in the international horse industry.
I would happily recommend Pear Tree Farm to any horse owner both for the excellent facilities at very reasonable rates and the high standard of professional horse care provided by Anna and Michael.

Tiffany Ottley – 2009 Side Saddle Horse of the Year Title holder

‘I have known Anna and Michael for the last 5 years and have seen their
business grow into a very professional and effective service. I used
Pear Tree Farm services last year when we took our horse – ‘Three Kings’ there while we travelled overseas. They were exceptionally helpful and very willing to assist and went beyond meeting my horse’s basic requirements. They took the stress out of the whole process and put my mind at ease that my horse would be well cared for. I would definitely use Pear Tree Farm Agistment again and highly recommend their services.’
